I can promise you that my reviews are personal and most importantly, honest. I tend to use the word "I" in my reviews since they are a reflection of my thoughts and feelings toward the reviewed book or product.
Genres that I enjoy:
Young Adult literature is my favorite genre as well as my main focus for The Neverending Shelf. However, I am open to accepting and reviewing Middle Grade and Adult titles with crossover appeal. I am partial to dystopian, paranormal, fantasy, science fiction, chick-lit, historical fiction, romance, and literary fiction. I also enjoy books that address social issues and mystery/thrillers.
As of November 2009, I have begun to review manga and graphic novels. I enjoy these reads immensely and will review them as time permits.
Genres that I do not enjoy:
I normally do not read non-fiction or memoirs/biographies.
Novel Formats:
Generally, I prefer to have a print copy of a review title. However, I am open to accepting e-books and pdfs as long as they are usable on the Amazon Kindle.
What happens when I accept a novel to review:
It does not guarantee that I will write a review. I generally follow the 50 page rule, meaning that if I do not enjoy a book after 50 pages, then I will move on to the next book. However, I do rate / review every book on GoodReads explaining why I did not finish it. While I try to only accept books that I believe I will enjoy, I cannot guarantee that the review will be positive. My job as a reviewer is not to sugarcoat my thoughts on book, but rather give my honest and fair opinion, something I can guarantee I will do.
My reviews generally include:
- The novel's cover art.
- Author's Name.
- Release Date.
- Number of Pages.
- A synopsis of the novel.
- My personal opinion of the book.
Upon request, I can include a link to author's website, Twitter, Facebook or any other online site. Additionally, I will be more than happy to include the book's trailer with my review if available.
Occasionally, I will come across a review novel that is just not for me. In the event of this occurring, I will hold a contest for the title with part of the stipulation of the contest being that the winner must read and review the book for The Neverending Shelf. Handling the book in this way, allows my readers to get a second opinion of the novel as well as giving the book a second chance at a more thorough review.

Author Interviews / Guest Posts:
In addition to reviews, I am always open to having Authors "stopping" by The Neverending Shelf. I love helping to promote authors and their novels in any way that I can. If you are interested in letting me interview you or providing a guest post, please contact me so that we may discuss details.
Ratings:
I currently do not rate individual novels on The Neverending Shelf. However, I do follow the rating guidelines of other sites, such as Amazon.com and Goodreads.com, when I cross post my reviews. If you would like to see your review posted on additional sites, please let me know.
How long will it take for a review:
I tend to read review titles in a 3 month span with ARCs receiving top priority. Generally, the review will be posted the month before, during, or after the book's release. If the title has already been published, please expect a review within 3 months of me receiving the title. However, if the book needs a review posted by a certain date, please let me know so that I may accommodate you.
Bookmarks and Swag:
I will gladly accept any bookmarks/swag that you would be willing to send my way. I promise that your precious babies will find a good home!! If you would be willing to donate, please contact me.
Other Products:
I am always willing to review other products that my readers might enjoy. Especially products that will appeal to teens and adults alike.
