Summary from GoodReads:
Who needs a book on dating a vampire? Well, Bella Swan and Sookie Stackhouse to name just two. They are fortunate to have vampire boyfriends. But what the heroines of Twilight and True Blood don't have and could use is some advice on getting along with them. Everything they and every other red-blooded American girl (and guy) wants to know about finding a dreamy blood-drinker and keeping him is within How to Catch and Keep a Vampire: A Step-by-Step Guide to Loving The Bad and the Beautiful. And who better to introduce mortal readers to the world of dating a 21st century vampire than a few mouth-watering immortals? The cast includes: Ethan, with his aquamarine eyes and supernaturally seductive piano playing. Mordred, classically cruel, dark, and handsome, with a thing for black leather gloves. His entrancingly cute carrot-topped friend Adam, as sweet as Mordred is scary. Gunnar, with his rich, golden hair, and dastardly but delightful knack for getting his way. The experienced and fascinating Colin, with his exquisite latte-colored skin and exotic beauty. The eccentric but gorgeous Aidan, purveyor of ancient magic. And enigmatic Conner, with his deep, dark eyes and protective soul. These undead charmers will win the hearts and minds of readers everywhere, and author Diana Laurence will be their expert guide.
Ever wonder what special tricks Bella Swan used in order to capture the attention of Edward Cullen? Or just think that vampires in general are sexy, and you are dying to know how to win one for yourself. Then How to Catch and Keep a Vampire is just the self help book for you! Divided into amazing step-by-step chapters, readers are sure to find out what qualities one must work on in order to find their vampire love. With chapters such as, "What's a Vampire Got That My Boyfriend Hasn't Got?" and an in depth FAQs section, Laurence provides readers with all the tools needed to find your perfect partner.
This self-help type novel was a really fun quick read. It also includes an insightful (and humorous) look into why we are so attracted to these creatures of the night. Laurence's usage of humor and wit had me laughing at the extent that one can undergo to find their forever partners. This book will definitely please vampire lovers and those with a sense of humor.

This sounds funny and oddly helpful. I can think of quite a few people who might should read this book.
Hi Kate, thanks for the wonderful review of my book! I'm so pleased you enjoyed it and glad I and my vampire friends made you smile. I'll be sure to share your kind words with the gang...Mordred could use a day-brightener (the onset of winter always makes him extra cranky).

Just two questions came to my mind.
1) What about the female vamps? Are they less picky than the boy vamps which makes them easier to keep?
and
2) Why is it that a good majority of vamps play the piano?
But this book does seem like a funny book to read.
Good questions, Margaret! It's true that the book focuses more on the male vampires, but that's mostly because of the expected audience being largely female. If by "picky" you mean "looking for pretty," as I mention in the book vampire guys are generally less shallow about appearance than mortal guys. Which is nice.
Most vampires play the piano because, as I also mention in the book, they are all pros at seduction. And of course they all know how sexy piano playing is!
Great review! I am positive my high schoolers will want to read it. :)
