Author Events

Living in Middle TN, we rarely have YA authors visit. However, for those few and far between visits, I will discuss the event and include pictures here.

Southern Festival of Books (October 2009)

This festival takes place yearly in Nashville, TN which is a short drive from where I am. It takes place over 3 days, and features over 200 authors from various genres. This year, I was pleasantly surprised to realize they had a wonderful selection of YA authors. Over the course of the festival, myself and a few other bloggers were very fortunate to sit in on some very interesting YA discussion panels. This was my first festival/author event as a blogger, and it was a blast!

Examples of panels attended:

Kathryn Williams
and
Sara Zarr

Justine Larbalestier

Select authors met:

G. Neri and Andrew Smith

Loretta Ellsworth

Melissa
de la Cruz

Daniel Waters

I live in Middle TN too, but was sick that weekend. As you can imagine I was not a happy camper that I missed this!

Wow! I'm so glad you got to meet so many great authors. That seems like quite an event. What was your favorite part?
